Things That Used to Design Cabinet Fronts

Kitchen cabinets are a necessary part of the modern kitchen. The design and the theme of the cabinet attract the people in your kitchen. In this thing, Kitchen cabinet fronts play the key role and give a final look to each cabinet. There are some items that you need to design kitchen cabinet fronts.

1. Circular Saw:

If you want to give cabinet-quality cuts in your cabinet then a circular saw is the best tool for it. First, you need to choose the right blade for the saw. This saw always has a 24-tooth blade but when you use it, you should always replace this blade with a 50-60-tooth blade for veneered plywood, solid wood, and other sheet goods. You can also use a 40-tooth blade for less critical cut-quality.

2. Paint or Stain:

To upgrade your kitchen cabinets, you can choose to paint or stain them. To paint the cabinets is a messy job. It can spoil your countertops and floors. To protect them you can use rosin paper, just cover the floor and countertops with the paper. After that, remove the doors, drawer fronts, and hardware to get a much neater and more professional look. In modern cabinets, cabinet or drawer fronts can easily be removed by backing out a few screws. But if your cabinet fronts are part of the cabinet and can’t be removed and you don’t want to paint the cabinet sides and bottom then you can use masking tape to cover them.

3. Plywood for the Cabinet Face:

Mostly cabinet builders use thicker and stiffer plywood for cabinet fronts. Earlier, thinner and less supportive material is used for the cabinet interior. But now trends are changing, most homeowners prefer more robust materials. The cabinet plywood comes in sizes from one-eight-inch and up. A plywood face can give your cabinet doors a finished look.

4. Sandpaper:

To refinish your old cabinet doors or prepare new ones for installation, you always need sandpaper. Sanding the edges is a key step to get smooth edges and smooth edges can help your doors to close fully and open easily. You should always pick sandpaper on the basis of the current finish on the wood.

5. Handles, Knobs, and Hinges:

If you are thinking to update your existing cabinets then handles, knobs and hinges can help you to give your cabinets and drawers a distinctive look. There are many designs, shapes, styles, sizes, and materials for handles and hinges that are functional and decorative. You can choose knobs and pulls that are made of glass, wood, ceramic, or other materials. You should always consider the quality when select cabinet knobs and pulls. Hinges are available in concealed and surface mounted form. Pulls are usually used on drawers while knobs are used indoors. Before selecting the knobs and pulls, you should always test the product.

If you choose attractive cabinet fronts, then your kitchen will have an attractive look. Their installation can be cheap or costly, depends on the style and material that you choose for the cabinets.
